It happens to me that some images need time to manifest, sometimes years. This painting has followed me through the 4 studios, in 4 different countries, that I've had since I came to live in Monferrato. It has a history of overlays: beneath this image, I think there are at least two other versions of paintings. The definitive one is from this year.

« I grew up spending summers with my grandparents in the Monferrato hills. I never truly lost that freedom of being in touch with nature — so much so that I eventually moved back there. »
