Author’s comics · Original

The farmhouse still stands, but the forest has already made up its mind. The rosy light creates a precise ambiguity: is this dawn or dusk? A beginning or an end? Ferraris leaves the question open — and that is exactly where the power of the image lives.

Tre cose che (forse) non sapete su di me
  1. 01 As a kid, I broke my arm badly playing football. The bone snapped in half, my arm hanging at a right angle. I left the hospital with a bandage over one eye and my arm in a sling. My spirits were crushed.
  2. 02 The first sign that my career would be in publishing came from a small publisher in Marseille that printed porn comics. Since there was no internet, I went looking for references in out-of-town newsstands, wearing fake mustaches and dark glasses.
  3. 03 At 18, to celebrate graduating, I went to Ireland. We stayed a few days drinking beer, sleeping in the car, and wringing water out of the tent. But what really mattered was that we had managed to put our lives on the road.

« I can’t be impartial. Monferrato was the stage of my childhood—the childhood of summer holidays, lucky and carefree. Among its gentle hills, combed by rows of Barbera and Grignolino vines, I was happy. Now that I’ve grown up, with a restless spirit in constant motion, it is to Monferrato that I like to return. To feel at home.  »
